My wife and I took a Viking River Cruise from Amsterdam to Budapest on board the Viking Skirnir. Most enjoyable, the captain kept the ship ahead of rising flood water and low bridges, Bjorn organized busses to ferry us hither and yon, food was excellent, crew was great, ship was comfortable and we mostly lucked out with the weather. We spent an extra day in both Amsterdam and Budapest, then flew to Rome for a few days.

Ships these days no longer have ships wheels and engine telegraphs it seems.

The Opera House. Sadly (for us) it was undergoing renovation, and the auditorium will be closed for two years.
