KINGMAN AND LUDLOW

Towards the end of April I felt the urge to go out and do some photography, so I headed up to Kingman and spent the afternoon in the canyon. Climbing up and down the hill for eastbounds crossing the Santa Fe bridge, I came across a largish lizard, who was wary but not particularly afraid of me. Turned out to be a Gila Monster, the first I've ever seen.

The cacti were blooming, so I tried to get some shots using them as a prop.

Next morning I set off for Ludlow, shooting my way across the Mojave. I ended the day on Mount Ludlow, spending the night at the Ludlow Motel. I've stayed there a couple of times before, it's convenient, very basic but clean. Next morning I set off back towards Kingman, again shooting my way across the desert. There was an amazing amount of motorcycles on the road, a lot of them turned off towards Las Vegas, but Kingman was pretty full, and I ended up staying the night at a so-so motel towards downtown.
