I decided to go to the charter on the Cumbres & Toltec via White Sands National Monument, since I'd never been. I arrived late afternoon, and was there for the sunset, and after spending the night in Alamagordo, I was in the Monument before sunrise. To get to pristine areas, away from the footprints, takes a small hike, but it was worth it.
