Rome

After our Viking river cruise, we spent an extra day in Budapest, then flew to Rome. Our first night we had dinner in a local restaurant, who didn't seem at all pleased to have tourists eating there. Our second night we ate near the Trevi Fountain, food and service were excellent. Next night we ate near the Spanish Steps, not bad. Rome was hot, dirty, noisy and very crowded, and a LOT of people with selfy sticks. Our first full day we had a tour of the Vatican Museum, Saint Peter's and the Cistine Chapel. I was mildly disappointed with the Vatican Museum, couple of things I wanted to see but didn't, we were rushed through then spent half an hour in front of the signs for the Cistine Chapel while every picture was explained to us, in excruciating detail.

Photography was forbidden in the Cistine Chapel, but I cheated and took a few. Very crowded!

Coliseum. I'd booked a tour, but it seems I didn't pay attention, as it was for the previous day.
