Keystone, West Virginia

In July I set off on what turned out to be an almost 5200 mile road trip. First was the grandkids in Ohio, then Chris & I went to Bluefield, West Virginia to have a look at part of Norfolk Southern's Pocahontas district. This is coal country, and small towns nestle in the valleys. It's beautiful country, but very poor, and the little towns are full of abandoned homes and businesses. This is my take on Keystone, on a suitably dismal day.

  1. Believe it or not, at one time, it was a pretty nice little town.

  2. It really was, clean with lots of people. I lived there. I go back once a year during the summer to take photos.
